Therefore, lighting automations in buildings such as offices, hospitals, commercial and public buildings increase profit while decreasing fixed energy consumption, thus personnel expenses.
Although ideally designing automation systems during the construction of the buildings is preferred, the automation systems can be included later in the building.

Compared to other closed source automation systems that offer unique wiring and infrastructure; being open source,integrating into different systems, being a problem-free system that requires minimum maintenance with its wide range of producers and products, has often been the reason for preference in many projects. Therefore, without being dependent on a single manufacturer and brand, in a project whose infrastructure is prepared with the EIB protocol, product groups with different brands -that support this protocol- can be used together.
For this reason, KNX has become favorite in lighting automation projects.
